Donnie chuckled under his breath.
“What?” Raph asked.
“Nothing. I thought that squirrel seemed a little nutty.” Donnie paused, eyebrows raised, but Raph did not give him the satisfaction of a laugh. “Uh, nevermind. The fridge works fine. It’s just the lightbulb that’s out.”
“Oh, great,” Raph said. “Give it a twist and let’s get the hell out of here.”
“Mikey would’ve laughed.”
“I’m not Mikey.”
“No,” Donnie sighed. “You’re not.”
Raph wished he remembered enough about his youngest brother to understand all the nuanced layers of meaning in Donnie’s statement. But since he didn’t, Raph let it pass.

The M-Bomb has detonated over New York City. Having lost his family and his memory, Raph wanders through an apocalypse with nothing to tie him to his past except his brother, Donatello.

Summary
Mikey had no idea when it got this bad.
It had started 2 months ago, with choking at a dinner. A piece of beef had gotten stuck in his food pipe. It was easy enough to deal with at the time, hen it started happening more frequently, almost every meal every day.
After a while, it started to really hurt. The more it happened, the more sore his throat was left. And the more sore it was, the more it felt swollen and achy. The more raw it felt, the more painful every meal was. That made getting the food down significantly harder too, having to work around all of the puff.
"Lay it on me doc!" Mikey says with fanfare. He leans back against the arm rest of the couch, moving his legs out to the side. The back of his hand dramatically flared out against his mask. "How long do I have? Please, Doctor, my wife and dau-"
"You have an auto-immune condition." He said, "I don't think you'll ever be able to eat normally again."
