it's not that yoongi's bad at reading his own emotions, per se, but jung hoseok has a tendency to piss him off, turn him on, and make him laugh, all within a few short moments. so, needless to say, it's a bit difficult for yoongi to comprehend how he truly feels about the guy.
or; yoongi is an ex-villain, hoseok is the anti-hero who tries to woo him with half-assed innuendos and the promise of things to set on fire, and yoongi finds out that he doesn't hate hoseok as much as he thought he did.

yoongi also decides that it’s mean, what he’s doing. he’s starting to feel like the brunt of a joke, or something, everytime hoseok does anything sweet for him. he doesn't really know what to do about it either, because telling hoseok to stop messing with his feelings would in turn lead to having to tell hoseok about said feelings in the first place.
