Summary
You've been through a lot. The world's worst ex, and a court case. You've got blood on your mind and your hands. Monsters are freed from the underground, but you've been too busy to notice much. After a friendly (mostly tense, on your end) meet-cute at the grocery store, your life changes. Definitely for the better, but definitely for the worse. You thaw.

Summary
“As always, humans first.”
The crowd was silent, clearly unenthusiastic. You tried not to think about your odds—it never did you any good. What were six slips of paper as opposed to hundreds?
With a shaky breath, you quelled the hammering in your chest. It will be okay. You do this every year, right? Every year, you come to the square, watch two members of your community be sentenced to certain death, then go home and silently contemplate the conditions of your world. That’s how it went every year, and you were certain that is how it would go this year.
So when the cold metallic voice announced your name over the loudspeaker, you could feel your heart stop.
Ice shot down your veins and a ringing filled your ear. You thought you could hear your mother scream, but she sounded so far away, you could barely register it. Was it really… it was you?
Another announcement of your name, followed by a sing-song, “come up here, darling!” confirmed yes, you. You were the human tribute of District 12 in the seventy-fourth annual Games.

Summary
"Any other girl would be better at this business of having an embarrassing, massive crush on the T.A. Someone who responded normally to being thoroughly smitten with an academic would prove themselves worthy by engaging in his lectures, attending his office hours, acing every assignment and every test. But you? No, you just shut down. You never asked a single question of him following his lectures, you never came to his office to discuss the course, you underperformed on exams, and — most shamefully — your mind wandered to absolutely sinful places whenever he stood at the head of the class and opened his mouth to speak."

Summary
Piltover was beautiful. Although you weren’t well-travelled, you would wager a significant portion of your assistant’s wage that Piltover could compete for the most beautiful city on the continent. The cumulus clouds hung low in the skyline, serving to illuminate the silhouetted skyscrapers and bridges of this progressive haven. A hazy smattering of reds and oranges peeked through the gaps, leaving the city blanketed in a golden aura, almost glittering in its luxury.
You took another sip of your drink. “If I’d have seen this sight when I was a kid, maybe things would have been different.”
“How so?”
