Summary
What kills not only Beomgyu, but Yeonjun, Soobin, and Taehyun as well, is the fact that they can't actually promise Kai good health, nor can they wrap it up and gift it to him. The one thing he wants is something that's completely out of their control.
If Beomgyu could heal Kai, he would. If there was a way to transfer all the bad out of Kai and into Beomgyu himself, he would.

Summary
Kai is unexpectedly met with one of the most beautiful smells he's ever encountered.
He pauses to inhale deeply, taking in a big whiff, and he feels like he could melt on the spot. It smells like he's walked right inside an entire bakery, like he's surrounded by loaves of spiced breads, hints of browned butter and sweet honey shining through. It's so warm and cozy, it almost feels like he's walked straight into a hug.
Kai smiles as he breathes it in. It's exactly what he's been needing. A nice, big hug.

Kai decides to take the test just to get Taehyun off his back. It's been two weeks now of chide remarks and sideway glances, raised eyebrows and knowing hums whenever Kai mentions his near daily nausea. Or how tired he's been. Or how uncharacteristically weepy he's gotten on a few occasions.
Taehyun thinks he's pregnant. Kai knows he's not, because he simply just can't be.

Soobin keeps his mind occupied at all times.
If there's anything at work he can do, he does it, jumping at any opportunity to stay late. He'll stare at his computer screen until his eyes burn and his head is a throbbing mess. As long as he doesn't have to think. As long as he's not left alone with his own thoughts.
At home, he keeps a book in his hands. It's either that, or he'll throw an audiobook on as he cooks or cleans or plays video games. As soon as he finishes one, he wastes no time on starting another.
The house is quiet otherwise.
Kai hasn't touched his drums in months. Or done much of anything.
