After faking his death and settling down in Capital City, Wemmbu's loneliness slowly catches up to him. It's ironic, since this is the most socially active he's been in months, but he's never felt more isolated.
One day, though, news of Wemmbu's passing reaches a certain someone from his past and he's suddenly faced with a vulnerability that he isn't allowed to respond to.

It's after hours at the Angel's Share and a certain cavalry captain has yet to leave, much to the dismay of the tavern's owner. Usually, Diluc would have no issue kicking Kaeya out into the cold night. However, it seems that his former brother has caught attention of a certain Fatui Harbinger's visit.
As a concerned and well meaning citizen of Mondstadt, he has every right to intervene with possibly dangerous relationships. Totally not for any other reason.

Wemmbu’s always been a fighter.
Even in this new so-called ‘explorer’ life he’d crafted for himself, he can’t seem to escape his tendency to fall into trouble, and kill his way out of it.
However, despite being on a journey with his enemy, Wemmbu finds that there can be calm before the inevitable storm.
Or, I get bored and watch like three Wemmbu videos and had the urge to write something about Wemmbu and Jaden. That’s it, that’s the fic.

“He already is,” Jumper interjects, wiping notes off the whiteboard.
“Reassuring.”
Nufuli nods. He gets up to assist her with the words too high to reach, continuing as he does. “She might be right. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with you, but the guy does sprint like a rabbit whenever he sees you enter the room.”
(or, Parrot learns that it’s okay to rely on other people. It takes a while, but thanks to Leo—and the rest of BAT’s—continuous efforts to worm themselves into his heart, he gets there.)
