    Macaque approaches cautiously. He’s not expecting Wukong to try and hurt him, he’s never raised a hand to Macaque in anger in the entire time they’ve known each other, but he’s looking manic, completely different from the Wukong Macaque knows and loves. He looks wild. “Are you...okay?” Macaque asks tentatively, wincing as soon as the words leave his mouth.

    Wukong bares his teeth in a poor imitation of a smile. “Fuckin’ peachy.”

    Macaque leaves, and then subsequently comes back.

    “‘Thanks for the help, Old Sport’?” Jack read the text directly from the photo. “‘From Davey’. That’s cute. Think the heart’s a bit much?”

    Dave froze, smile dropping momentarily before he snatched the photo out of Jack’s hands. “Stupid store. Fucked up my photos.”

    He stared up at the ceiling while he sipped from his water bottle. Mei waited patiently, still a bit shell-shocked herself, as Mk processed her words.

    He suddenly spewed out his drink all over the floor with Mei narrowly avoiding the line of fire, “Monkey king is WHAT?!”
