Summary
Akaashi likes to consider himself a composed, rational human being. He can keep his hands and eyes to himself. He can control his hormonal, teenage impulses just fine. He even manages to keep the PDA to a minimum, even though his very attractive and very cuddly boyfriend makes it difficult. Akaashi makes a point to keep focused during practices and games. The last thing he needs is for Bokuto to somehow make himself more distracting than he already is.
But that all goes out the window when Bokuto buys himself a new pair of gym shorts.

And maybe it’s Bokuto’s sleep-deprived brain, or the fact that he’s been down bad for Akaashi for the past two years, but he throws his head up and nods. “I’m coming to Tokyo.”
“Huh?” Akaashi says all-too quickly, looking awake again.
“I’m coming to Tokyo,” Bokuto repeats as he stands from his chair, bringing phone-Akaashi with him to his drawers. He sorts through it and starts taking out clothes. “For the week. I’m going to come to Tokyo. Tomorrow.”
OR: Bokuto is struggling with the adjustment to college life and being away from home. After a particularly difficult night, he makes the sudden, totally rational decision to take the next train back home to Tokyo. Feelings ensue.

'Bokuto hadn’t really thought about the implications of inviting Akaashi out for dinner on Christmas eve. Truthfully, Bokuto hadn’t really thought about anything at all. Akaashi was back in town after an exhausting leg of back to back meetings and conferences and shitty hotels with boring food and terrible cell service, and Bokuto had a whole week off of practice over the holiday period, and it had been forever since they last saw each other, so Bokuto had considered absolutely nothing when extending the eager invitation. He simply wanted to see Akaashi, as soon as humanly possible.
And Bokuto might never have thought anything of it, if he hadn’t told Kuroo the moment Akaashi replied to his text, and if Kuroo hadn’t smiled the way he did, all thin and sly, like he was privy to a joke Bokuto had missed.'
