Eddie Kaspbrak fought hard to get where he is. It took eighteen years of pretending to be a girl. It was hours of training on the volleyball court: sweat, blood, and bruises so severe they'd give his mother a heart attack. But it's all worth it when he gets invited to play on the University of California's women's volleyball team.

Summary
Since his fourteenth birthday, Eddie Kaspbrak feels like he's been dreaming with his eyes open. Now twenty in the summer of 1997, he's decided to take summer classes at the community college--and runs into Richie Tozier, the guy who makes him feel like he's suddenly awake. He just wishes he knew why Richie seemed so familiar.
Richie's been in a tough place for the last couple of years, but he's finally starting to get it together (he thinks). When he meets Eddie Kaspbrak, it sort of seems like his whole life has been leading up to this dreamlike moment--even though he feels like it's happened before.
Takes place in the It (2017 - 2019) universe. A rebooted version of "dreaming with eyes open" because I wrote that when I was nineteen and now seems like a perfectly good time to revisit it.

But when a small boy with large doe eyes called Eddie moves to Derry, the heavy emotions dissolve for a short while until he's quickly reminded of the fact that he's hiding something large. Something that could potentially ruin their friendship.
Eddie Kaspbrak's life was completely shaken up within a matter of weeks when CPS came knocking on the door of the beat up house in New York that he inhabited. He was whisked away from his abusive mother's grasp quickly and shipped off to a small town called Derry where he met a gorgeous boy called Richie Tozier who seemed more closed off than he'd like to admit.
