Summary
Welcome to Death Weapon Meister Academy: More commonly known as the DWMA! An organization that exists to protect and preserve peace against corrupted souls, malicious witches, and other forces of evil. It’s… not exactly your typical school.
Students consist of people who can literally transform into weapons, and the phenomenal meisters who wield them. The top students in the academy, also known as the EAT class, are tasked with completing missions to hunt down corrupted souls. If they’ve collected 99 corrupted souls, and are able to defeat a witch, Lord Death, Grim Reaper and headmaster of the academy, will anoint the accomplished weapon as one of his personal Death Scythes (though right now, there’s only one literal Death Scythe).
Three particular meisters desperately wish to make their partners Death Weapons, each with their own reasons. However, the bizarre and supernatural world they live in has a lot to show and teach to these teens, no matter how sound they think their souls, minds, and bodies are.

"What?" Soul questioned, and then he turned to follow Maka's gaze over his shoulder. Just a few places behind them in the line stood Maka's father, Death Scythe. The man's starry-eyed gaze was fixed on his daughter, whose cheeks were turning red in anger. Her fists balled at her sides, and Soul tensed in anticipation.
"You followed me to the theater!?" Maka exclaimed before Soul could gather his thoughts.
Death Scythe startled, and after a moment of sputtering thumbed over his shoulder.
"Stein wanted to see this one!"

A visit to the Evans Estate, the first one for Maka. She had never met Soul’s parents, could hardly get a word from him about them, so a family visit to the east coast was the perfect opportunity. But she knew more than anyone that friendly smiles only meant so much.

Duelling: In the case of duels between Technicians, a member of staff must be present (see footnotes for details). Failure to follow procedure will result in disciplinary action.There's a rule at the DWMA: Duelling students must have a teacher present at all times.
At the time of reading the handbook, Soul had rolled his eyes and paid it no mind- just how common would duels have to be at a school for there to be rules about it, anyway? Do the students there fight that much>

Summary
Soul was odd. To Maka, he was full of loop holes and contradictions, like a badly written story. Expect he wasn’t a story. He was a real person who reasonably should have an explainable for his werid quirks and oddities or for his lack of information in certain areas, and influx of information in other areas.
It just didn’t make sense. Until it does.

It didn’t have to mean that she and Yukiko were…like that, what they did. Not necessarily.
Maybe the fumes in Kanji’s bathhouse had just gotten to them, spending so many hours in there fighting and sweating. They’d been tired, and sore, and Chie had eaten too much at Aiya, and hadn’t wanted to walk home after she dropped Yukiko off at the inn, and when they’d gotten under the covers together, maybe all those factors had just come together and gotten a little messy and –
Chie stands up and busies herself trying to find her jacket and her socks. Maybe it had been nothing but them both being tired and addled from spending too long in the TV.
When Yukiko comes out of the shower, Chie thinks, they’ll talk about it.

“So you're here out of obligation,” Teddie's shadow says, cutting Naoto off. “Easy fix, then. After all, he belongs here. Don't need to save someone from their own home, right?”
“Like hell he does!” Yosuke bursts out, and the shadow immediately rests its gaze directly on him. The words he was so passionate about just a second ago die in his throat as the shadow stares.
It's silent for too long—too silent, Yosuke realises. The other dungeons had some kind of music playing, or some ambient sounds, like water running or machines whirring; this one has nothing, not even the murmur of shadows. It's a type of cloying silence that feels off; it doesn't feel as though there were no sounds to begin with—it feels as though all the sounds that were there have been muted, leaving only an unnatural silence in their place.
Finally, the shadow clicks its tongue. The sound is clean; there's no echo despite the place they’re in, only the hints of shadowy distortion. “Prove it,” it says finally, then takes a step back and disappears into darkness.

"Oh my god, our knight in shining armor," Miya deadpanned. To his utter disbelief, Langa's expression lit up at the sarcastic metaphor.
"Yeah! He's always acting like some sort of knight. Always taking care of someone, wanting to protect them." He nodded enthusiastically.

Four times Reki beats Langa at a game he doesn't even know he's playing, and one time Langa's pretty sure he's finally gotten the hang of it.
Alternatively, Langa attempts to take care of Reki in the way Reki takes care of him.
