Summary
Coworkers Hermione and Draco find themselves alone together in the Ministry library the day after his unfortunate--fortunate?--drunken confession.
She stopped next to him and bent down, her lips dangerously close to his ear. “Do you know what I’ve always wondered?” she whispered, pausing to take in his clean, spicy scent. His quill snapped, finally breaking under the extended pressure.
He cleared his throat. With difficulty, she noted.
“What’s that?” He had, adorably, tried to sound casual, but his voice was cracked and rough. Poor, tortured thing. She would put him out of his misery—just not yet.
“I’ve always wondered what it would be like to get off in a library.”

It has been almost 12 years since the Battle of Hogwarts. Since then, Hermione Granger has continued her studies as well as a few apprenticeships. Now she’s back in Wizarding London and ready to save it, of course. Except she’s managed to drive Harry Potter to his breaking point. The consequences? She’ll need a partner to oversee her newest pet project. We’ll soon find that Draco Malfoy may not be as enthused to hunt down werewolves as our golden girl.

A Note from April 2025
This story was posted March 2022, but I started writing it in the fall of 2021, which means this story was born during a time when my writing journey was just beginning. Since then I have learned a multitude of skills and techniques to effectively tell a story, and I'm still learning. As I write this, I am still stitching this series into an ending, and I realized Making an Observation is rough. Still, it remains one of my favorite stories, so for those of you who give it a try, I promise the writing gets better. After all, this story is almost 4 years in the making.Series
