    After having his live broadcast of the Owl Lady's petrification interrupted by his son, Gus, Perry Porter grapples with the fact that he's become less of a reporter and more of a mouthpiece for the Emperor. So, he decides to get back to his roots, starting with an interview of the infamous Owl Lady herself.

    Then, when Eda tells him about a mysterious journalist called DaggerQuill who circulates a secret newspaper that spreads important stories with no concern for what the Emperor might think, Perry decides to work for it. But to do that, he'll have to impress DaggerQuill by breaking an incredible story, which turns out to be a lot harder than he suspected, even with the eager assistance of Luz.

    They start with an investigation of the Blight family.
