“You’ll blow me if I get up?” Samatoki opened both eyes just to squint at him. He knew a sarcastic quip when he heard one, but hey. Sometimes a shot in the dark actually hit the target. Jyuto eyed him slowly, expression flat in a way that told Samatoki he was weighing his options.
“Perhaps,” Jyuto eventually said, face still suspiciously neutral. “One way to find out.”
At that, Samatoki swung his legs onto the floor and pushed off from the couch. The fifty-fifty chance of getting Jyuto on his knees was good enough for him.
Samatoki is usually pretty good at doing stupid, impulsive things. This time is no different, except for the fact that the consequences of his actions get him something good for a change.Series

"It's common knowledge at this point that Shinya Hiiragi isn't exactly in good terms with the rest of the family. He doesn't mind, not really, it's not like he particularly cares about their approval or attention anyways, but it does get tiring to be forced to attend meetings knowing that almost all his propositions will get dismissed just on principle. It is also common knowledge that, apart from him and Shinoa, the Hiiragis aren't particularly fond of Guren either, and they'll use his capacities as a soldier to justify sending him and his squad into the most dangerous missions.
And, most often that not, Shinya will join them."Come what may, they'll always be soldiers first.
