Summary
Then Will’s gaze lifted back to his face.
Will was flirting with him.
Oh God.
“So…” Will said, shifting just a little closer, not enough to crowd him, but enough to make the space between them feel smaller. “Are you here alone?”
Mike hesitated.
No.
This is not happening.
For a brief second, his mind jumped to the door, to the people around them, to the exit he had been trying to reach just moments ago.
He could still leave.
He should find the exit
But instead, he looked back at Will.
And nodded.***
Mike is still deep in the closet, struggling to come to terms with his sexuality, even as his best friend and roommate, Will, lives openly and proudly as a gay man.
When Halloween arrives, Mike uses a costume to hide who he is, giving himself one night to be someone else, to feel free.
But what happens when Will starts to show interest in his masked persona? -

Summary
After a long silence, Will spoke. “What are you reading?”
Mike hesitated, then tilted the book cover toward him. Hoping he wouldn’t ask too many questions, or ask him to read it too. With the big red dragon on the cover, he felt safe.
Will blinked, eyes widening slightly. “Oh.”
“What?”
“I… didn’t think it was your kind of book,” he admitted softly, voice low, shy.
“Fantasy books?” Mike asked, playing dumb.
Will hesitated, chewing the inside of his cheek, fingers twisting nervously in his lap. “Mike… do you know what you’re reading?”
Mike shook his head, pretending ignorance, though his fingers gripping the pillow gave him away.
“It’s… gay smut. From beginning to end,” Will said quietly, avoiding Mike’s eyes.
Mike’s ears went red. “You’ve read it?”
“Yeah,” Will admitted, shrugging, glancing down.
“Why?” Mike asked, clutching the pillow tighter.
Will shrugged again, probably not expecting the question. “It’s… good.”
_____Mike and Will were childhood best friends who drifted apart. Years later, they meet again in a mental health center and reconnect in unexpected ways.

Summary
"Mike! It’s freezing! Where’s your umbrella?” Will’s voice cut through the storm, warm and familiar, pulling him back to the present.
“I… I forgot it,” Mike stammered.
“At least put your hood on, you moron.” Will stepped closer, tugging Mike’s jacket hood over his damp hair. He angled the umbrella to cover both of them and brushed raindrops off Mike’s shoulder. The gesture was small but it felt monumental.
“What are you doing here?” Mike asked, still staring.
“To see you, of course.”
“Why?”
“Because I missed my best friend. Is that a problem?”God. He had missed him so much.

Summary
“Have you ever…um, done something with anyone?”
Will opened his eyes and looked at Mike, his brows drawing together.
“You need to be a little more specific here.”
Mike bit his lower lip, his gaze flickering away from Will’s. “Um, I mean like-”
“Have you ever,” Mike swallowed, eyes dropping to the ground. It was probably the heat but his cheeks had gotten a faint pink shade. “Kissed a guy, or you know…done anything else than, uh that.”
Or

Summary
“You’ve really never?” Will asks, finally pulling a box of matches out of his pocket, not the lighter Mike had been expecting. He tips the box of Marlboros out towards Mike again, and this time, he takes one, trying to pretend like the subtle weight of it is not as foreign in his hand as it feels. “Not even once?”
“No,” Mike says, trying to figure out whether he should be getting defensive or not. “Why? Is it that hard to believe?”
“I just figured, you know, it’s easier to bum a smoke off of somebody than it is to get your hands on some booze,” Will says thoughtfully. He tucks the cigarettes back into his pocket and plants both hands on the stack of hay behind him, taking a careful step onto the bale already resting by their feet — and then, when it holds his weight, he hoists himself up, legs swinging. “And you’ve done that, so.”
Will sneaks out for a smoke break. Mike decides to join him.

Summary
“Is this weird?”
Will frowns. “What?”
“I don’t know, I’m just— every time we—” he stops when Will pulls his hand away by his wrist and resumes dabbing his lip. He doesn’t think twice when he brings the tissue to his mouth to make use of his own saliva, and Mike doesn’t question him either. “I can’t be normal around you anymore.”
Will delicately cleans him up, eyes calm and steady, voice comfortably quiet. “I’m not asking you to be.”
Or: In the November morning light, everything has changed. Mike and Will try to figure out who they really are, what they really want, and how much they really need each other before they lose their minds—but, if they’re honest, that might just be the fun part.

Summary
It's 1997 and the ghost of Mike Wheeler walks back into Will Byers' life twice in one day: first in a Midtown coffee shop, then as the writer assigned to his graphic novel. Eight years of awkward distance now have a deadline. Collaboration is a special kind of torture when the person you're building a world with is the one who broke yours.

Summary
"The moment is replayed over and over. The collision of their bodies, the taste of him, the guilt overridden with pure desire. Will’s not naive. He knows what people say about him, and what they’ve always said about him. It started with his father and eventually festered in every meaningless corner of his life.
Would people judge as harshly as they do if, just for a moment, they could feel what Will felt like with his lips on Mike?"
