  1. Summary

"Okay, you're going down first," Buck says to Edmundo fucking Diaz, who is currently crouched in front of them, wearing the fake firefighter uniform he wears as Ric in Station 136, his face streaked with soot as he glares hotly at Buck.

"No, I'm not," he shoots back.

Buck makes a strange noise that Chim can hear even over the fire. "Look, Ed—Mr. Diaz, but you're clearly worse off than your friend here, and protocol says you go first."

    "That's subjective," Diaz shoots back.

"Uh, guys?" Chim breaks in, and immediately regrets it when both of them turn to glare at him. "We're wasting time. Someone has to go first, or we all die in here."

OR, the one where Buck is married to famous Eddie Diaz.

    Summary

“I feel fucking explosive, Buck. Like I’m about to go off at any second. I don’t want you caught in my mess.”

His eyes sting. At the very least, Buck contains the sound of it in his voice. “Eddie, I don’t know if you’ve noticed,” he replies, “but I already am.”

Eddie self-implodes. Christopher, seeking refuge, flees to Buck—whose priorities amount to, in varying order: take in the kid, get Eddie to talk to him, and keep the three of them afloat in the process. (Oh, and Tommy’s there too. He thinks.)

    Summary

A car accident leaves Eddie without ten years of memories. He forgets meeting Buck, falling in love, getting married, and bringing two more kids into their life. As Eddie struggles to adjust to this new life, Buck struggles with being in love with someone who doesn't want to remember him.

Oh, and they have really cute kids.

Just another Hollywood Amnesia story the fandom probably didn't need but lived in my head rent free for too long.

    Summary

They both know this is it. That beyond this barren landscape, whatever they found here will cease to exist.

It was born here and it’ll die here, and Eddie will spend the rest of his life missing it, but he’s not allowed to take it with him. They have to bury it - dig six feet down and submerge it in the sun-scorched earth so she can remember it for them. So she can cradle it and keep it safe, where no one can ever touch it. Where no one can ever taint it.

    Summary

    "I miss you."

Eddie didn’t mean to say it, didn’t even know he was thinking it. Buck shifts a little restlessly.

"I literally could not be closer to you," he says dryly. Which isn’t true, after all. They’re under the same covers, Buck’s body warming him as his must be warming Buck’s, but there’s plenty of space between them.

The only way to change things is to find a way to say what you want.

    Summary

It had started, like so many things in the last two years, with the pandemic. A COVID scare at the 118 had Hen and Chimney bunking in the loft’s downstairs living room, leaving Buck and Eddie to share the bed upstairs.

Buck and Eddie. Two straight guys who absolutely had no problem with sharing a bed. There used to be a pillow between them, but weeks passed and they decided it was no longer necessary. As Buck said—they were two straight guys. This wasn’t the first time Buck had to sleep in close quarters with another guy, so it shouldn’t be a big deal, right?

    Except, it kinda was.

After months of celibacy, Buck was pent up and Eddie just wanted to be a good friend. Besides, it's not gay if it's just the tip.
