“Ah, also, have you seen my light blue sweater? I think I left it there before.”
“I haven’t seen it here. Maybe you left it somewhere else?”
“Hm. Perhaps I did.”
By this time, Jiang Cheng can already hear Lan Xichen’s voice outside his apartment. Hence, he ends their call and opens his door, ready to face Lan Xichen’s ever-blinding and gentle smile.
What he gets, though, is a shocked look that abruptly turns into one of laughter. He furrows his eyebrows, expression morphing into his infamous scowl, at the reaction. His mind runs through various thoughts, most of which are about whether he has something on his face to laugh at or if he looks indecent.
“A-Cheng, you’re wearing it.”

Jiang Cheng’s pulse quickens, his eyes widening at the implication. His mind is telling him not to jump to conclusions and that this might just be one of the usual love confessions Lan Xichen is fond of giving.
His heart tells him otherwise.

Jiang Cheng moves to sit upwards, and Lan Xichen mourns the loss of contact. “Are you challenging me, Zewu-jun?” Jiang Cheng asks. His right eyebrow is raised, and he has a smirk on his lips.
“Maybe I am, Sandu Shengshou,” Lan Xichen responds. He stares back at Jiang Cheng, narrowing his eyes in mock seriousness.
They break into a fit of laughter not long after staring at each other.

None of them want to be doing any of this. Thanks to the Juniors, they don’t exactly have a choice.
