“There’s no chance the costumes will still fit,” Silco whispered, in horror.
“Oh, they’ll fit,” Vander said. “A little differently, maybe, but they’ll fit.”
Silco’s head whipped around so fast to look at him that he winced, the migraine reasserting itself. “And how do you know that?”
“Ummm,” Vander said, sheepishly, “don’t be mad at me, but I still have ‘em.”

Silco and Vander bring back a fan-favorite evening, Bunny Night, at the Last Drop. They're about as unbearable about it as you'd expect.

Summary
“Hey there, handsome. Haven’t seen you around here before.”
The barman, with his broad features and barrel chest, leaning oh-so-casually over the counter, seemed familiar, but the way that he winked at Silco — perhaps not. Just another flirtatious barkeep looking for company and conversation. Silco smiled into his glass as he took a sip. This one was easy on the eyes. He almost regretted having to let him down.
“Before you get any further,” Silco said, setting his drink back down on the counter, “I’ll have you know I’m married.”

“The men I’ve invited are not gentle,” Silco said, tilting Vander’s chin up to look him in the eye. “They will not treat you kindly. You requested to ‘get out of your head a while.’ Tonight you will do just that. Tonight, you’ll be nothing to anyone but some brainless doll, a hole to fuck. A receptacle and nothing more. Understand me?”

Summary
He hadn’t gotten Vander a gift, because Vander was impossible when it came to gifts. Silco would ask him, and the answer would always be the same: I don’t want anything, Sil. Which was a damn lie, of course; he wanted a bar more than anything in the world, wanted to be able to quit working the mines even part-time, but that wasn’t within the realm of possibility yet.
But Silco could give him something else he’d needed.

Summary
“This doesn’t change anything between us.”
Vander snorted and set two highball glasses down in front of Silco. “Wasn’t expecting it to. I said you knew where to find me, and you did.” He pulled a bottle of liquor – amber colored, the glass ornately carved, an expensive article of Piltover contraband he kept squirreled away under the counter for special occasions. “You still drink your whiskey neat?”
Silco eyed the bottle. He took another drag off his cigar. Vander watched the end of it glow and crackle. Watched the curl of his thin lips around it.
“What makes you think I’m drinking with you?”

A love story, of sorts.

Summary
“Slapping me?” Vander slurred, and the grip on Silco’s hair tightened, mean enough that his scalp burned. It felt good. Silco struggled against him, pushed against his shoulder. “Like I’m some kind of dog?”
“A dog would be better behaved,” Silco shot back, and that was what earned him the sock in the jaw that sent stars scattering across his vision and blood filling his mouth. He choked on it, coughed, splattering Vander’s face with flecks of spit and blood. “Case in point.”

Summary
He’s sitting on a beach he hates, trading shitty jokes with a centuries-old monster whose body count would put Ed Gein to shame and who is almost certainly also plotting to turn him into a flesh lampshade.
“Don’t be dramatic,” Armand says, picking up on that thread, “I do wish you’d stop returning to that.”

Summary
Armand presses his hand against Daniel’s where it still traces his hair, his ear, feels the veins full of his precious blood roping over the backs of his knuckles and up his wrists. “I dreamt I was a mortal.”
“What, all the way back in … ?”
“No, love. Here. With you.”
Daniel snorts, opens his mouth to say something, but Armand presses a finger to his lips.
“You want me to tell you, so let me. Spare the commentary.”

“I’m stuck. Nothing’s progressing the story. Each version I write veers off into nothing, or leads me to a dead end.”
“Writer’s block,” Zane intones. All too sympathetic. “Well, that’s what I’m here for, right?”

The writer Alan Wake and the director Thomas Zane hold yet another brainstorming session, to extremely mixed results.

Summary
Maybe Steve would have actually been offended if this were a year ago when he actually had a reputation that wasn’t actively crumbling before his eyes and the guy currently insulting him wasn’t doing it through a mouthful of chocolate-chip pancake. But here they both are. Coming from Munson, it’s less of a barb and more of a grim acknowledgment of how far he’s fallen.
“I should kick your ass for that little comment,” Steve says, without any real enthusiasm.
“You’re welcome to! I bite, though. With vigor.” Munson swallows his mouthful of cavity-inducing pancake, and looks at him, dark eyes gleaming.

“And you seriously intend to make good on that?” Nandor asked, in disbelief. “If we just — ghoul them —”
“Ghost,” Guillermo interjected, exasperated, “It’s ghost them, Master —”
“Oh, whatever! It’s not like they can kidnap me twice!”
“They know where we all live,” Guillermo said, leveling his master with a baleful look, “and last time you got gotten by a goat.”
OR: Nandor can't make good on his end of the deal with the witches. Guillermo helps.

Summary
“I think our rendezvous point is a gay bar,” Hal observed, voice low.
There was considered silence, then rustling as Dave — no, Pliskin, he remembered they weren’t supposed to know each other — produced a matchbook and a cigarette, taking his time in lighting it. “That a problem?”
Post-Tanker Incident. Snake and Otacon deal with repression, impulsiveness, and the consequences of trying to have your cake and eat it too.
