"It's your birthday," Diluc says, as if it's that simple. As if he cares.
"And since when does that matter to you?" Kaeya snaps, pushing past him to unlock his door. Diluc moves out of the way.
"I deserve that."
Kaeya doesn't deign to respond to such an asinine statement. He pushes open the door and makes to close it on him, but Diluc wedges his boot in the way before he can manage it.
"Can I come in?"
"You really have some nerve, Diluc Ragnvindr."
kaeya hates his birthday and wishes diluc would leave him alone. diluc does not do that.

Summary
Sigewinne is up to something. Wriothesley knows she is because despite the fact that they just received a shipment of medical supplies last week, she is insisting they are out of bandages and that he must go get some right away. He severely doubts that they have managed to go through them all in such a short amount of time, but he lets his curiosity get the better of him and plays along with it anyways.
Determined to get Wriothesley away from the fortress on the birthday he's forgotten, Sigewinne gives him a shopping list and employs their friends in the Court to keep him distracted.

“Well?” Kaoru said, and it came out more bluntly than he’d intended. “Are we doing this?”
“It’s a really small space,” Kojiro said, still not looking at him.
“Oh. I get it. You’re afraid your overgrown gorilla body won’t fit in there, aren’t you? Well, I can assure you that although my closet is a bit small, two people will not be too much for it.”
A small party is held at Kaoru’s apartment for Christmas—courtesy of Kojiro, Hiromi, and the kids. It seems to be a perfectly normal occasion until the group begins playing Truth or Dare, which leads to Kaoru receiving a questionable dare from Reki. It’s a dare that requires him to stay inside a closet for seven minutes with none other than Kojiro. Things take a turn when Kaoru discovers that the feelings he’s kept hidden deep down are not as unrequited as he’d originally thought.

Mydei crosses his arms. “How are you of all people supposed to help me get through Christmas with my family?” he asks dryly.
Phainon’s brows lift. “Huh.” When he doesn’t elaborate, Mydei gives him a look. “Well,” he says. “It’s just that I think I have a similar problem. With family. And Christmas.” He grimaces. “If I don’t come home with a boyfriend, I think my mother will kill me.”
Mydei’s eyes narrow. “Did you tell Cipher that? She probably thinks we can help each other.”
Phainon’s scoffs. “How? By pretending to date each other?”
Tired of their families pressuring them about significant others at Christmas, Mydei and Phainon agree to pretend to date each other and then break up after the holidays. Things don't go as planned.

“Kaveh,” Tighnari says, and his face is the picture of concern, fading into a hazy red around the edges. “Are you sure going home is the best idea?”
“Hmm?” he says, which is perhaps not the best thing to say, but, ah, the fragments fit together into their previous conversation. “I’m fine. If I make it home it’ll all be okay.”
It’s fine. It has to be fine. He just has to sneak past the entirety of Sumeru, hide Alhaitham from Tighnari, and then sneak past Alhaitham himself. To “find completion,” as Tighnari put it.
Kaveh gets hit with a ley line anomaly that compels him to seek out a deeply repressed desire.

Summary
Neuvillette drinks. Doesn’t swallow, no. Instead, he brings their mouths together. Tangles fingers in Wriothesley’s hair to tip his head back, and passes water from mouth to mouth.
Electro hums with life between them. Instead of an isolated shock, this one travels from mouth to mouth as well, and when Wriothesley groans, swallowing some of the water down, he passes his tongue over Neuvillette’s. Over the backs of teeth and those sharp fangs.

Summary
They lay together on the couch, the house strangely quiet. Wriothesley watches his thumb moving back and forth over Neuvillette’s body. Remembers the way his hands disappeared in the bathwater. He wants to think it was just a weird trick of the light, but Wriothesley isn’t in the habit of lying to himself.
Maybe there’s something wrong with him. Maybe Neuvillette’s gift of humanity is unraveling somehow. That’s terrifying. It would mean humanity was conditional or limited by time. Or that something can undo that gift. Something? Maybe someone.
When Wriothesley begins experiencing strange changes, he and Neuvillette must investigate the cause or risk losing each other forever.
