“You should come.”
George turns so quickly it’s almost comical.
“You mean—what, like with you?”
“Yeah,” Max says easily. His tone is even, almost casual. “We fly out tomorrow morning. Switch off for a bit, clear your head. Just for a couple days.”

Max’s jaw tightens. “Could say the same for you.” He doesn’t ask how George got in—he already knows he won’t like the answer. “Decided to skip your P2 constructors’ afterparty?”
