“You know that’s not true, right?”
Nandor frowns. His hands grip tightly onto the lid of his coffin, and he’s doing his best not to smash it in frustration. Why the hell is Guillermo questioning him now? He just wants to get off. Is that too much to ask? “What are you talking about?”
Guillermo turns back, a coy, almost innocent look on his face. “What you said about how nobody is willing to help–” he pauses for a moment, a little hesitant. “...uh, help you out?”
“Of course it is true. Laszlo and Colin are helping their little monster, and Nadja and the Guide are out.”
“That’s not everyone.”

Summary
Being a vampire is messy. It’s about power and sensation and raw instinct. It’s about the thrill of the hunt and the ecstasy of the bite and the siren call of human blood.
Guillermo has the potential to be a legendary vampire. He has the fire of a warrior - it’s rare that he lets it show, but when he does, it’s breathtaking. He just has to trust his new vampiric instincts, to give himself over to them, to let them overwhelm him until all of his little human rules and doubts and fears are things of the past.
And that, he can learn. He will learn. Nandor will teach him.

The taste of saltwater entered the kiss, and Nandor pulled back to find that the rest of Guillermo’s tears had slipped free at last. He was trembling as he clung to Nandor’s shirt. “I wanted it to be you,” he said, echoing his earlier words in a broken voice.
“I know, Guillermo,” Nandor murmured, wiping the human’s cheeks with his thumbs.
He was all out of wishes. He could never go back in time and change what happened. It was far too late for him to fulfill his duty as Guillermo’s master, to become his sire and guide him through his transformation.
But he could give Guillermo this much.
