Summary
The girl is rapidly becoming dead weight. Worse, actually-- she might be having a seizure, but Homer isn’t going to stop to try and find out. He swears that they are almost there, they must be, but it’s another eternity before they break the barrier and there is no gasp, no spluttering, she has gone still--
"Coming back to life. Was that your decision? Could you have stayed-- well, wherever you were, had you wanted to?"“There was someone else,” Homer says, squinting against the light as it filters through trees, “a kid. I think she chose for me.”
Homer dies, over and over again, and comes to realize that humans have got it wrong all this time-- there is no God; there is a little girl, and her name is Nina. -

Summary
Her hands burst into song. She spins her fingers delicately through the air and follows them with her own eyes, eyes wide open and dancing, like she’s watching a bird flit around her glass cell, like she intends to catch it. It’s not officially sign language, she’s communicated as much, but none of them have been able to figure out if it actually means anything, if there’s any pattern, or if it’s simply what it is. Sometimes she hums while she does it, and Homer likes that-- hearing her voice adds life to his existence, if only an inkling, however brief.
Prairie loses her words, not her sight.

Summary
“Nikki, Neil, let me tell you something,” Max begins flatly. “I’m a freaking ten year old. We all know that the childhood neglect I’ve been subjected to will eventually and inevitably lead to crippling depression, and at that point, I probably will imagine my own funeral, many times over, in vivid detail. Right now, I’d like to enjoy these last vestiges of my childhood illusions, and pretend I don’t want to kill myself. That being said, I’m sure my funeral will be nothing to shit over, and personally I don’t care, since I won’t actually be around to see it. Can we please shut up and go to sleep now?”
“...Wow, Max.” Nikki whistles. “You’ve put a lot of thought into this!”
“I really haven’t.” Max lies down and rolls over.
Max, Nikki and Neil eat Cheetos and talk about death. It's not as emo as it sounds, I guess.

Summary
You hang onto their ankle to stop them from floating off-- the TARDIS creates a protective bubble around you, but still. Little Frisk laughs and laughs as they float upwards, hair flowing around them, like they’re underwater. They reach their arms up and up, making grabbing motions at the stars.
Kris is a time-traveling alien who crash-lands in a puddle by Frisk's house. They drink soda and go to space.

Summary
Exploding in a fit of golden flowers and sugar-coated suicide pacts, you’ll collapse from your monstrous form into your old one, and Asriel will cry, and you’ll see him in Hell-- have a family barbeque, maybe, roast hotdogs with him over the flames. Or maybe you’ll wake up, back in this place, and do something else. You don’t need to break the barrier to set everyone free.
Death comes in the form of a long midnight drive, or a flying frisbee planet, or Asriel crawling into your room at weird hours to make sure your soul is still safe inside its breathing ribcage. He loves you, unfortunately.
