Summary
A year had passed since Erik made his deliverance on that cursed beach in Cuba. His promise to his kind. To be honest, he'd expected his mutant allies to remain with him for more than a few weeks. When they left, without a friend in the world or a home to his name, he spends the rest of his time travelling around the tri-state area, drowning his sorrows in liquor in tears in an effort to stay sane. It's all going rather terribly, until one day, he sees the very man he's missed for a year. The man he left on that beach. The man that has plagued his dreams and haunted his nightmares ever since. And yet, he cannot pull himself away from the man. He cannot take himself back to his motel room, and he cannot pretend the man never existed. When he dares to speak with him, nausea and fear swirl in his stomach, threatening to make a riot. Erik wonders whether he can truly win back Charles' trust, his complete trust and whether they can push past this awkward friendship Erik's actions have doomed them to remain in to become something more.
