Summary
"Aymeric—"
"And then you joined the Scions! Gods, Estinien, are you mad? I do not doubt your prowess, but even you would think twice before fighting the threats they face, and yet—and yet!—I am told of your next mission, from someone other than you, after you spent years avoiding me. Years, Estinien. How do you think that makes me feel?"
Quiet, quiet. Then Estinien scoffs, taking his chestpiece off. "Are you done?" he asks, gruff. "I didn't come here to be scolded like a child. 'Tis unbecoming of you."
estinien comes home.

Summary
"This isn't real," Aymeric says, quiet.
"Maybe not. Maybe it is. Why does that matter?"
"…I suppose it doesn't."
Estinien's frame shakes with quiet laughter, his fingers treading over the knee-high grass and wildflowers. He looks gorgeous in the sunshine—it's been so, so many years since Aymeric has seen him under anything other than the cold and ice of Ishgard. Even the sun of the old Coerthas was never half as bright and warm. It reflects beautifully off his skin, off the tan he'd gained since leaving the city. It makes Aymeric's heart hurt.
aymeric often dreams of estinien in his absence.

Summary
He cannot very well explain why the thought of admitting it makes him feel so much self-disgust. It's odd, he thinks; he has never once seen Aymeric as lesser for choosing to receive, and yet the act of receiving himself makes him feel embarrassed. Pathetic. But he knows he must admit it, if only for the fact Aymeric looks so wounded over his perceived misstep that it makes Estinien's chest ache.
"It surprised me, that's all," he says. "Surprised me further that I…"
Quiet, quiet, his head bowed in shame. Aymeric shuffles back between his knees, resting his hands on them.
"Liked it?" he prods, encouraging. Estinien scowls and nods.
"Aye. Liked it."
for the first time since they were soldiers, estinien lets aymeric touch below his waist.

Summary
"Stop," Estinien whispers, pained. A last-ditch attempt to make his mind shut up. Aymeric is not the cruel, vain man his brain so desperately wants to think he is. That he's even allowed Estinien in, that he even forgave him after everything, is proof of that.
"Stop what?" Aymeric asks, gentle.
Estinien shakes his head. "Not you. I'm sorry."
"You needn't be. I have you, Estinien. I'm right here. Whatever it is you need to feel comfortable, you have it."
years after escaping nidhogg's clutches, estinien returns to show aymeric what scars it left.

Summary
“You have nothing to apologize for,” he says, and Urianger sobs once more, pained and desperate. “Nothing. Nothing.”
It’s not enough. It’s not the right words, the right thing to say. And though he is loath to lie, to say something that he doesn’t truly feel—because Urianger is blameless, is innocent in Thancred’s actions—he knows he must. For Urianger’s sake.
Thancred closes his eyes.
“…I forgive you, Urianger.”
And Urianger breaks at his feet.
somewhere, somehow, they figure it out.
