He looked at Sirius sharply, and for once, matched his grin. “Yeah.”
“Maybe that’s my excuse then,” Sirius said. “I cause a bit of chaos now, and maybe one day, it’ll turn into rock and roll.”After losing his mother at age eleven, Remus has spent the better part of the last four years bouncing from school to school or else running around London and pretending as though he wasn't the kind of well-bred boy his father brought him up to be. Now, with his chances all run out, Remus is sent to Hawkings Independent School as a last-ditch effort to clean up his act. There he meets the very people who will set up the rest of his life, and is forced to confront the pieces of himself he'd long thought had been lost.

Remus is an artist who, after a particularly messy breakup, finds himself drawn to the Cornish coast. His fresh start is disrupted, however, when he meets someone who reminds him an awful lot of his ex-boyfriend.

He really isn’t in the habit of judging his customers for their coffee orders – especially the ones loaded with sugar. He’s had his eye on the pastry case all morning, after all.
Sirius holds the cup up in salute, sticks a straw in it with an awful screech, and returns briefly to the till to drop what sounds like an ungodly amount of change into the tip cup. Remus has already backed up against the counter behind him when the other man hesitates by the door, shooting a look over his shoulder that would have a weaker man swooning. “How’s the knee?”
It takes Remus a moment to register the comment, glancing down at his own leg and realizing, much to his horror, that Sirius really must have been watching him struggle with that traitorous folding table, and that he must not be so faceless and forgettable after all. He can feel the blush creeping up the back of his neck, but he manages a laugh and an eyeroll, “I’ll live. See you around!”
And God, half of him hopes he doesn’t.
