Summary
Tony escapes Afghanistan with a functioning Iron Man suit and a perfectly normal heart. He even manages to bring Ho Yinsen home safely at his side. But he may as well have lost everything... because his wolfbrother is dead. Six months later, the Avengers find Captain America, frozen in ice, miraculously alive. Everything and everyone Steve has ever known is gone -- except his wolfsister, the recipient of the lupine version of the super-soldier serum, who was frozen in his arms. "No one hates you as much as you do," Crowley told him once. That's Dean's whole M.O. right there. His two fundamental truths are that it is his job to save everyone, and that no matter how many people he saves it will never change the fact that he is 90% crap.
Dean knows who he is. Yeah, he's done some good for the world, okay, he gets that. But deep down? The person he is inside is still worthless. Dean will never be good enough, never be any kind of role model. He's never going to shake that, so if that's what this whole seven trials angelic bullshit is about, then he and Cas might as well hold hands and drive off the cliff now.

Summary
Cas is an overworked teenager who just lost his father, and is trying to run the tavern that's been left to him on his own. Dean knows nothing but mistreatment, and will do anything for a full stomach and a warm place to sleep.
Wander Home is a verse set in a vaguely medieval setting, with historical accuracy that depends on how much research I feel like doing that day. It is a hurt/comfort Destiel verse, with an autistic Cas and severely abused Dean finding each other and helping each other survive and heal <3

Dean's never seen himself as a particularly optimistic person.
But even if he had. He thinks he'd have had trouble feeling overly positive about his new owner. A thirty-year old weirdo, some lonely alpha shut inside a malfunctioning lighthouse like it's his own personal fortress. Plus, the kindhearted captain, reluctant to bring him up. The people in town, who don't see much of him.
