Summary
During the Lost Weekend, John decides to start rumours that he's queer. Paul reacts.
Written for the kinkmeme prompt:

I want a fic showing what this would look like. Doesn't matter if he's just pretending or if it's real, or maybe he doesn't even know himself. Enough people think it's real for it to "get off the ground." How do his friends react? How does Paul react? Doesn't have to be endgame John/Paul, but I'd like that. Mostly I want to see John dancing and flirting in gay clubs. (Maybe Elton's showing him around at first?)

Summary

AU: John survives the shooting but years of unhealthy dieting and not taking care of himself have taken their toll. To keep him from wasting away, Paul brings him back to Cavendish and becomes his personal chef.

Summary
Paul has always been sort of vaguely aware of the fact that he loves John, in the same way that he’s aware that John loves him, in the same way that he’s aware that it doesn’t matter. He knows that they can’t be together – they can’t be queer – so it’s not worth dwelling on, is it?
If he thinks about it too deliberately, it hurts. So he doesn’t think about it.
It would have been perfectly fine going on that way. He might have done it his entire life with ease, even. It would have been fine, it not for the fact that one day he just – forgets, for a moment. And he kisses him.
