Just a short drabble about one of my detectives and an injured Nate appearing in her apartment late at night...
"Open the door please, darling." Nate's melodic voice floats through, muffled by the door.
She almost complies, wanting to believe that this is all a horrible dream and when she opens the door her sweet, loving Nate will be on the other side.
But his normally gentle voice sounds dangerous, it drapes over her mind like a lingering chord, humming with unnatural harmony, yet unable to pull her into its tune.
