Summary
Kadou was in rare form today.
He was rarely confident and never outspoken, but today he was ordering kahyalar around like he had been born for it. He had been, so maybe it was more like he had finally come into his birthright. Evemer was visibly proud of and impressed by his husband. His kahyalar were beside themselves in their pleasure and eagerness to serve. Every time Kadou snapped out another order, the kahya he addressed would smile and nod and say, “Yes, Your Highness,” or “Of course, Highness,” or “With pleasure, my lord,” and Kadou’s own smile kept getting bigger and bigger. His eyes lit up at every enthusiastic response from his kahyalar (he adored his kahyalar) and he kept sneaking pleased looks at Evemer and basking in his husband’s approval.

Aziraphale’s eyes widened greedily as her fingers floated over the selection on the plate before her. She moved to take one, then changed her mind and held her fingers over a different one, then reached for a third and picked it up. She held it in front of her and examined the piece, turning it carefully in her hand. She sniffed at it, eyes closing in pleasure, then smiled and bit the piece delicately and precisely in half.
Crowley swallowed hard, eyes never straying from the scene playing out before him.

"Captain de Vere," Damianos says, his voice a low rumble in Laurent's ear. This close it was impossible to feel anything except the hard wall of muscle behind him, the way Damen's hand curls around his arm, the way the point of his dagger digs into his neck. "I've been expecting you. You're not very subtle, you know, but I didn't think you'd make it this easy."
"I'm always obliging," Laurent says through gritted teeth, wondering how far an elbow in Damen's gut would get him. Damen, as if anticipating this, tightens the grip on his arm. It's just as well, really. He'd probably only break his elbow if he tried.
"I've heard a lot of words used to describe you, Captain, but I don't think 'obliging' was ever one of them."
"Oh?" Laurent says, trying desperately to even out his breathing, to calm his rapid heartbeat. "You've been listening to gossip about me, then. What words have you heard, if not that?"
"A lot that I can't repeat in polite company," Damen says, laughing lightly.
"You wouldn't say I'm polite if you knew where I was thinking about shoving that dagger of yours right now."
