Summary
The last time Dennis had a conversation with Robby before the day they tumbled down a bridge together was a little over a year ago. It was minutes before dawn. The hallway light was just bright enough to illuminate the horror in the older man’s eyes.
“I’m sorry,” he said to Dennis, choking on the words and rubbing a palm over his eyes. His chest was heaving with breaths as if he'd just witnessed the end of the world instead of holding Dennis naked in his arms.

Or;
A year after a drunk hook-up with his attending at the end of his rotation, Dennis is back to the Pitt as a resident.

Summary
Dana knows the signs.
It doesn't happen often, but occasionally enough that she knows what to look for — and she's good at looking, good at triaging a situation. So when Robby comes in, heaves his backpack off his shoulder, and winces slightly when he bends over to tuck it away beneath his workstation, she tries her best to keep her smirk to herself.
"Back acting up?"
"Been killing me since I woke up this morning," he says, straightening up with a pinch between his brows, one hand coming up to massage his obliques.
"Means you must've had a good night."

Summary
Abbot hikes his camo backpack on his shoulder and, his back to Dennis, says, “You were homeless?” His tone is neutral, as if he’s asking what Dennis had for lunch, or how many scrub credits he has left on his shift.

Dennis gets spiked on a night out with Trinity and Victoria, and is taken to the Pitt. In his clubbing outfit. Which is important, for some reason. He should probably get baptized again after the night he's had, now that he thinks about it.
*
In which Dennis is high, confused and a little scared, but surrounded by people who make it okay.
