Summary
In the immediate wake of the Battle for Heaven and Earth, Levi is gravely wounded and feels ready for death. Yet as always, fate has other plans for him. This time in the form of a Marleyan doctor with eyes like golden honey. Doctor Elena Schneider tends to Levi's wounds. She is not like other Marleyans and has never harbored ill will towards Eldians, instead always seeing them as just people. During Levi's long and intensive recovery, he finds himself enraptured in the fiery doctor and he goes from ready to die on that battlefield to finding that perhaps there are more reasons to live than just fighting.
Preparations begin for moving everyone from Fort Salta to a Marleyan city that was left untouched by the Rumbling. Levi wonders what fate awaits him the moment he and the others reach the city. Elena will go to work in a real hospital and will no longer have the time for him that she has so far been giving so freely. The thought of no longer having her in his daily life hurts in a way he's never felt before.

Lilith Ackerman is the daughter of Mila Ackerman, half sister to Dina Fritz/Yeager. After Dina and Grisha are turned in, Mila's heritage is found out and she is taken to the Facility where they discover her Ackerman blood. She is pregnant and gives birth to Lilith who is then implemented into the Facility's Ackerman Training program. They attempt to force her to Bond throughout the years and are unsuccessful and so she is kept inside the Facility where she spends her life training to one day fight in service of Marley. Until the Beast returns from Paradis after he and the other Warriors have been defeated. It is decided then that the only way to deal with Captain Levi is to send in another Ackerman to challenge him. Lilith is given her first mission however she has plans of her own once she reaches the island. But things don't exactly go the way she hoped. Instead of continuing her mission she will discover more about her heritage while falling in love with the man she was sent to kill. The man who tries to kill her in return.
