Summary
When the high of the fact that they made it out alive finally begins to fade, the burning in his ribs begins to make itself known. All seven of them that were in the air are ushered to the carrier’s medical wing to be checked over; most of the attention is focused on Maverick, who’s trying to brush the doctors off, but Rooster can feel two sets of eyes on him. Phoenix is expected, the slight worry between her brows suggesting that she can tell he’s in pain despite his brave face. Unexpected is Hangman, who puts a gentle hand on Rooster’s back and looks at him with something akin to concern.
