The first time Luo Wenzhou receives flowers at the office, it is greeted by the entire Yancheng Criminal Investigation Team with equal parts bemusement and amusement. While it isn’t unheard of for the team to receive bouquets from victims or their family members as thanks for their work on a case, red roses aren’t normally the flower of choice.
Lang Qiao is the first to reach the object of interest, as she always does with gossip and food. She roots around until she pulls out a little card and reads: “‘In my heart, a cluster of flowers grow facing the burning sun’. It’s signed Fei.”
The AU where Fei Du and Luo Wenzhou got along for the last 7 years.

Zhu Hong glares down at the workbook in front of her, trying to untangle the equation on the page through sheer force of will alone. It is raining today, so the light shining through the glass doors of her father's apothecary is grey and feeble. The glare of the fluorescent lights inside are giving her a headache — or maybe that's just the homework.
Why do humans have to learn these stupid things? Back in the Snake Tribe lands, they were taught useful things, like how to identify and grow medicinal plants, how to fight off vengeful ghosts, and of course, cultivation. What are math equations supposed to do for them, anyway? It's not like you can eat them or use them to reach a higher plane of existence.

Summary
Tonight, Zhao Yunlan is clear-headed enough to properly enjoy it. He had asked for the taxi driver to let him out a couple blocks away from home, and he revels in the swing of his legs and the wind through his hair as he walks.
It isn’t long until his mind, as it often does these days, wanders over to rest upon an image of the mysterious Professor Shen. The thought of Shen Wei is always a pleasant one, though the logical part of his brain likes to suggest that perhaps it shouldn’t be.

Shen Wei froze. Just for a moment, only a second or two, but it was enough for Zhao Yunlan to lift his head and look at Shen Wei, his eyes starting to clear from its contented haze. Shen Wei opened his mouth, to say — to say what, exactly?
After all, it was such a nice evening, and Shen Wei didn’t want it to end. Didn’t want to make it not nice. So he pulled Zhao Yunlan towards him instead, with just the right amount of force to make Zhao Yunlan gasp, and swallowed that up with an open-mouthed kiss.

Zhao Yunlan wakes to a flurry of activity, the echoes of voices and footsteps ringing through the tunnels of the Alliance Headquarters. His first thought is that there has been a Rebel attack. He hurries to pull on his robes and gather his long hair into some semblance of order.
It isn’t until he has stumbled out of the little alcove assigned to General Kunlun that he realizes there is something unusual.
Ten thousand years in the past, Zhao Yunlan finds that he has accidentally stumbled into (yet another) legend.

“What are you holding?” A growling sound comes from the table just then. Whatever the object is, it is enough to distract Da Qing from the food and for him to stalk over to the edge of the table, body even rounder than usual with his fur bristling.
“Oh, this?” Zhao Yunlan turns to smirk at the cat. He hefts the black box with colourful dials he is lugging under one arm, the box bouncing slightly in a concerning way before he settles it in front of the projecter screen with a thump. “I’m getting ready for our yearly karaoke battle, of course!”

Summary
Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan survive Ye Zun's attack on Haixing. Exactly how they survive is a secret Shen Wei finds himself incapable of sharing in the confusion that follows their return, as Dragon City tries to get a handle on a number of passages that have opened up between the worlds, and Ye Zun's supporters turn to violence to prevent a return to the status quo. Escalating crises barely leave time for Shen Wei to process the changes that the events in Dixing mean for his and Zhao Yunlan's relationship. As it turns out, though, open communication is an integral part of collaborating effectively to save two worlds, so they have some catching up to do.
