Summary
It was supposed to be a one night thing. A fling. For old time's sake, nothing more.
They'd agreed on it, with George leaving for Florida in only a couple days, there wouldn't be anything else between them. They'd go back to being nothing more than a chapter in each other's stories; the words faded and lost to time itself.
Until, that is, a call comes through that changes George's life forever, and he's left learning to navigate this new realm with one hand reaching back to the past, and the other stretching forward to everything he yearns for. To the future he's built, the world he has longingly watched unfold across an ocean, and the man who unwittingly holds his battered heart in his hands.

Summary
George knows something is wrong the second he wakes up.
The room is warm, too warm for the frigid January outside his window. The mattress below him is softer than normal, the blankets piled on top of him silkier.
Slowly, he cracks one eye open.
Across from him, in a bed that is not his own, is a sleeping man.
“What the fuck,” He mutters to himself, anxiety surging through his body, “What the fuck,” His body springs into action, throwing himself out of the bed and tripping over his own feet as he crashes to the floor.
“George?” The other man asks, and George’s blood runs cold. He knows that voice. He would know that voice deaf, or underwater, or six feet underground.
“Dream?” His voice cracks.

before dream can process what’s happening, there’s arms wrapping around his middle and a face nuzzling itself into his chest, and oh, george is hugging him.
he quickly returns the embrace, circling his arms securely around george’s shoulders and pulling him in. george lets out a sigh, and dream can feel the way his breath grazes the skin of his neck. goosebumps rise all over his body, and he refrains from shivering.
“thanks for takin’ care of me,” george mumbles into the fabric of dream’s sweater. “for being here.”
“of course,” dream replies, pressing a faint kiss into george’s hair. “‘m always here for you. love you.”
“mmm,” george pulls back slightly to peer up at dream, locking him in place with his gaze. “me too.”
dream grins so hard he thinks his face will rip in half.

george gets sick and dream takes care of him like the whipped man he is.

“Yeah, it’s hot.” Dream removes his hand.
“What?” George is embarrassed by how breathy he sounds.
“Your skin, it’s hot where he slapped you. That’s how you know it was hard. Your ear’s all red, too.”
George touches his ear. His cheekbone and jaw are beginning to throb dully, just a low ache that’s synced with his heartbeat. “Oh. Does it look stupid?”
“No, it’s cute.” Dream swallows. “I mean it’s– well– it just looks like you’ve been out in the cold, kind of.”
George doesn’t know what to do with that.
Sapnap slaps George at TwitchCon. Later, George finds himself in Dream’s hotel room, hopelessly in love.

“There you go,” George puts on his best customer service voice, moving quickly to hand the stranger his drink, and it clicks when he notices a brightly-coloured braided bracelet on the man’s wrist. He’s wearing a few rings too, none that particularly stick out, but George would recognize that bracelet anywhere. There’s a matching blue-coloured one in a drawer in his desk that he tries not to think too much about but can never bear to get rid of.
“Dream.” George blurts out the name before he has the chance to think it through.
or; George and Dream grew up together, then grew apart. Somehow, they're lucky enough to get a second chance.

That's probably the stupidest thing Dream had ever heard come out of George’s mouth, and that was saying a lot, but saying no to George had proven to be an unnecessarily hard thing to do.

So George had a problem. A problem he knew it was one, but never dared to say out loud before. Dream could tell something was wrong, and as usual, wanted to help. But this wasn't something he could fix for him, was it?
“Well, there’s nothing you can do,” he said, shrugging.
“Well, I mean… Technically…” The brunet raised an eyebrow.
“What?” His friend let out an awkward laugh.
“You need a heat partner,” Dream pointed out. Then, he pointed at himself. “I’m an alpha.”
At first, the omega didn’t see the relation between both statements. But the moment it clicked, his cheeks instantly turned red, huffing and looking away.
“You’re such an idiot,” he let out. “Stop messing around.”
“I’m not, I’m not! I’m being deadass.”
George blinked a few times, before huffing again, expecting him to laugh and say he was kidding. But he didn’t.
“So what? What does that mean?” He pressed. Because there’s no way the boy was actually suggesting that. “You would just, fuck me?”
“If that’s what you needed.” The alpha shrugged, as if the conversation was normal.

Summary
Love burns everyone who coaxes to touch it. Satisfactory or disastrous, the flame will keep burning or it will cease and crumble into ashes. It would hug them welcomingly, letting them safely fall into the warmth of their arms, or it would force them down the cliff until they ignited into nothingness, vanishing into clouds of hurt that frightens them most.
Perhaps, it’s a gamble. A risk a lot of people are willing to take. If they found their people, they played a good game. If not, they recede empty-handed and possibly, with a damaged heart. Bravery, sometimes, is handed to humans since they were born, Dream wasn’t fortunate enough to be chosen.

It was just an intrusive thought. Dream has no desire to kiss George. That would be strange. Weird. Off-putting.
And, although he has never been a particularly religious person, Dream prays to every holy being out there that he doesn’t think about kissing his best friend again.He thinks about kissing George again.
Despite all the many jokes he has made about kissing George, he's never really, properly thought about it. It's all just jokes, after all, it isn't like he wants to kiss George.

Summary
Oliver’s not usually a cuddly person, at least not with Miles. So when Oliver is repeatedly curling up on the couch with him, or coming up behind him to wrap him in hugs, Miles interprets it as Oliver missing his boyfriend. Which is fine; he misses Elliot too. After months of having the Scot in their shared house, the walls feel empty without him there. And he really can't complain; the cuddles are fine. Nice, even.
The only problem is, they keep pulling at his heartstrings, and he can't help but want more, when he really knows he shouldn't. His breaking point is rapidly approaching, and there's nothing he can do to stop it.(NOTE: Originally written for a different fandom, but I no longer support those CCs or associate with the fandom, so I switched the characters out with my OCs.)
