“Not as lovers,” Wriothesley counters, a feeble attempt. “Surely not.”
“There are other ways to show love.” Neuvillette’s lips press to salt-riddled skin, thoughtful as he speaks. “You know how I take my tea. We’ve spent mornings cooking together when you hardly had the strength to do it yourself. You’ve lifted me from the darkest spaces of my mind, and shown me the intricate beauty of life, despite the turmoil that comes with it.”
Another gentle kiss. This one laughed into, Wriothesley stunned.
“Is that not love, Wriothesley?”
