Despite what everyone said about them, the creature didn’t seem hostile. If anything, it seemed more afraid of Tatsumi than Tatsumi was of it. Especially when Tatsumi rounded a corner, accidentally running face first into it— he fell to his knees on the hard concrete floor, his eyes wide as he sat frozen in shock. A glimpse became a look, and a look became a stare, and he was certain you were not supposed to look at these things, but the creature looked just as surprised as he did. It just stared back at him. Tatsumi was almost afraid to move, worried the bracken would snap his neck the moment he did, so he did the only thing that popped into his brain at a time like this.
“I’m terribly sorry,” Tatsumi apologized, staring at the mesmerizing set of turquoise eyes until the creature fled with a gasp.
