Though he certainly wasn't lacking them, Dragon Sovereigns, no matter their form, experienced them differently than humans, much like Melusine. And though he had experienced grief, and joy, and sorrow, and a colorful spectrum of woes and happiness and everything in between, he felt his heart remained rather muted.

“No?” Mingyu asks when the older begins to chuckle. Seokmin ignores the burning in his cheeks to glare at his hyung. “I’m clean!” he rebuts with a pout. “Seriously I am!” he adds desperately when Jeonghan only laughs harder.
“Oh god…” Seungcheol laughs, patting Mingyu on the shoulder, “Guess you have a hell of a year ahead of you buddy.”
If only he knew.

For some reason, Seokmin gets the impression that Mingyu is simply trying to talk to him to please someone else; to get out of trouble, would be the better way to put it; remembers that Minghao had thought to talk to Mingyu about his standoffish attitude toward Seokmin and almost immediately feels displeased. It bubbles, foreign and tasting of iron, in the back of his tongue.
“You know,” Seokmin starts quietly, more serious than he feels, “You don’t have to do this.”

mingyu gets the sense that seokmin feels the need to prove his worth, and, well. as supportive as mingyu is of the cause, he supposes can’t deny himself the delight of seeing the adorably awkward side of seokmin making a comeback in the face of his old flame.
