Summary
Jack doesn't even bother to say anything. Instead, he watches as the chaos of the Epikegster turns its focus to the arrival of Kent Parson with full force. As people begin to swarm for pictures, the claustrophobia that had already been building gets to be too much. Jack's stomach feels like it has dropped all the way down to the basement and, as Lardo ushers Parse away, he makes a break for it.

Summary
On the screen, Jack and the blonde from that party at Samwell--Bittle, a small voice echoed. You know his name is Eric Bittle. Number 15. Speedy. Worked great on Jack’s line, really kicked up his game--were caught up in an embrace, their mouths pressed together in a kiss that was not some in-the-heat-of-the-moment embrace. That was a comfortable kiss. That was the kind of kiss that the guys who scored the cup shared with their spouses or their long-term partners. That was the kind of kiss that said love-and-pride-and-joy not elated-I’m-losing-my-mind-celebration-let’s-kiss-for-drama.
And once upon a time, Jack’s face had held a younger, paler imitation of the expression it was making now, his lips pressed against another's, hand tangled in blonde hair. Kent had a picture of that kiss, that expression, buried deep in a box in the top of his closet, that he hadn’t looked at in years but was burned into his brain.

Jack doesn't tell anyone about his first day, the one he's going to take in Kent's family's cabin in the Finger Lakes. He doesn't even tell Kent.

He’d peeled his shirt off during mile five, which might be why Kent is watching him, languorous, tounging the handle of his spoon.

Gun to his head, he would’ve said Jack had left the CD in Kent’s car accidentally. That he’d only remembered the song from glancing at the track listing. But the acoustic guitar kicks in, then the echoey vocals. And he remembers: rug burn on his knees from car upholstery, Jack insisting on choosing the music just this once, Jack humming melodies that reverberate through Kent’s skin.

Alicia tucked her arm over his. “I’m sorry, I’m about four glasses deep now, ignore me. I’m just glad you’ve found your way back together after all this. How long have you been back together again, Kent?”
He would regret this later, but that never stopped him in the moment. Jack pressed his hand up against the small of Kent’s back. Kent inhaled sharply, and Jack felt it again, that no-look one-timer, just the two of them against the world. No guarantee that Kent would be there, would be able to pick up on Jack’s signals without words, but the hope that he would.
“I think it’s been a couple months now,” Kent said, and the pass connected.
