He used his inhuman, clawed hand to snatch John by the jaw and the claw tips pricked his skin. “You let me have my fun, and your deal will be complete. How does that sound, my canary?” Kayne’s voice was almost a languid purr. “And then I can send you back on your way to your lover boy!”

Now, they even lived together and helped run the Private Investigators office together to solve missing persons cases and other crimes that often the Arkham police couldn’t be bothered with. Their business just turned a year old recently, a stroke of good luck. Arthur was still adjusting to the new job, Peter quietly picking up that Arthur had been from money and possibly involved in the music scene as a composer. There was a small bit of him that was curious why Arthur would give up that kind of life for something like this.
