His eyes widened and he hurried to interrupt him. “Don’t say that! You-“ Mind Sweeper put a hand over Deku’s mouth.
“Just let me say this.” He pulled his hand back and fitted Deku with a sincere look. “If we die today, I need you to know that I love you, and you’re one of the best things to ever have happened to me.”
“I know. And I love you, too. But we are not dying today.” His determination and declaration were steely.
Mind Sweeper couldn’t help but to smile at the man he’d married. “Alright, I believe you.”
