Summary
It's after three weeks of missing his family, sleepless night after night succeeding one another, turning the days into a blur, and miserable, helpless longing that, finally reduced to tossing around in his bed in place of begging for rest, Alexander's hand first strays past the edge of his nightshirt.
Somewhere in the midst of it all, the voice, the hands running over his skin take shape, cover themselves in meticulously memorised marks and spots, and Alexander gasps out, "John."
or; instead of having an affair with Maria Reynolds, Alexander Hamilton spends the summer of 1791 jacking off to John Laurens' memory. It helps, and doesn't.

Summary
“Ah, Jack, do remember to inform me whether or not you will be present for dinner tomorrow.”
“I doubt I will be, father,” Laurens replies, only looking up for a second to see the man nod, the sound of the door closing relieving Laurens immensely.
Laurens can feel both Hamilton’s and McHenry’s eyes on him, then hears quiet chuckling from Hamilton. When he looks up, he finds his friends grinning at one another.
“What?” he asks, mildly annoyed and primarily confused. “Is it so absurd to you that a father would want to know about his son’s attendance at dinner?”
“No, it is not absurd at all, Jack."
-----
After his father mentions the nickname Laurens has grown to immensely dislike over the past few years just once, the aides don’t let him live it down.Bookmarked by shirley_temple70

Summary
A chill runs down Avery’s spine as paranoia creeps at the back of her head. Being this small, this vulnerable, she is extinguishable like two fingers pinching out a candle. Snapped like a toothpick. A meek little blip in this colossal world for titans, gone in the blink of an eye.
She returns her attention to the nutcracker, as it's easier to fret over the fabric than it is to catastrophize about an untimely demise. She straightens out the front of its coat, grounding herself in the mindless smoothing out of wrinkles.
And then the nutcracker’s mouth shifts under her finger tips.
Or:
Avery, Tristan, and Max decide to spend their winter break together, away from The Odyssey in an airbnb. As the snow piles outside and the hour grows later, Avery dozes off to Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker ballet. Shenanigans ensue.
