Summary
Any and all colour disappears from Alhaitham’s cheeks when he opens the front door and sees in what sort of state Kaveh knocked on it. His first thought is that there is more red in his outfit than usual, far more than the bright red cape adds. His second thought is that Kaveh’s eyes are redder as well, now almost shining. Red, so much of it, all over Kaveh.
“It’s not mine,” Kaveh speaks up before Alhaitham can even begin his sentence. “The blood, I mean. It’s not mine, I’m not… not injured.”
How Kaveh came to live with Alhaitham after their falling out.
