Garrick hears a plea for help, swiftly followed by finding a plummeting Sgaeyl and Xaden. Once they’re more-or-less safely on the ground, it’s up to Garrick, with Chradh’s marginal help, to aid in the winter worsened emergency to get himself and his best friend back to Aretia.
When they return, Violet is waiting, and Imogen, too.

Imogen sometimes lets her intrusive thoughts win.
At least, that’s what I thought when I watched her feel the soggy sack of flour in her hand as if weighing the souls of the departed (albeit not very carefully) and then glance up at where Garrick and Xaden were talking ten or twenty feet away. I watched the wheels work in her mind, watched the tawny water drip from between her fingers, and watched the next look she gave the palm-sized (perfectly-projectile-sized) flour sack again.
And wham. (Or perhaps I should say, whoosh-splat!)
The bag didn’t burst, but it may as well have, because before it flopped to the ground like a lifeless, joyless pancake, it covered Garrick’s shoulder and arm, down to his hand, and part of his chest and back, in varying forms and states of matter of flour-water mixture...You'll have to read to see what happens next!

Pues, incluso estando acostumbrado a la oscuridad, la abrumadora falta de luz en esta caverna me esta afectando. Extiendo mis pies en el suelo en la cumbre Aretiana en mi mente, inclinarse y extiendo mis dedos entre el césped, sintiendo para poder de Sgaeyl. Cierra mis ojos y enfoco cuando su poder… su energía… entre mis venas. Luego, como en una magnifica golpe, bruscamente no solo puedo sentir el poder que tengo también que puedo sentir todos los centímetros de esta caverna tan cubre en obscura. Es como las paredes, las guijarros caen, el suelto frio, todos están tocarme en mi piel. Las sombras en la caverna responde como justo extensiones de mi cuerpo, de mis nervios.
