That quiet sense of wonder at whether the pages have unfolded to breathe its story into the world around him. The room is too warm, Yoo Joonghyuk thinks, because his cheeks are itching too now, and his lips are doing something strange without his permission.
Unfortunately for him, Han Sooyoung glances back. It takes her milliseconds to read him, a second to speak: “Joonghyuk… Are you smiling?”

Lee Seolhwa started doing her readings, but Han Sooyung noticed that Yoo Junghyuk was still holding Kim Dokja’s hand. “What are you, shameless or something?” Han Sooyung asked. She grabbed Kim Dokja’s other hand. He made a soft sound: if Han Sooyung was writing this scene, she’d describe it as a mix of a wince and a whimper. She peered at his flushed face. “How long has it been? Wow, you haven’t touched anyone for hundreds, or thousands of years maybe.” She watched Yoo Junghyuk’s hand on Kim Dokja’s flex, at that. Holding Kim Dokja’s hand tighter.

On the way to the bus stop, the rain seemed to drop harder, but Yoo Joonghyuk let the drops hit him. It was cold, biting, and uncomfortable. Perhaps if he let the rain fall on him, he could come to understand the hearts of those who he hurt.
When he reached the stop, he unexpectedly saw the girl again, leaning against the wall of the shelter, crossing her arms. On her left was a boy, holding onto his backpack straps with both hands. Besides the rain tapping on the shelter and showering on the ground, there were no other sounds. The three of them stood silently under the grey sky, letting the cold speak their words for them.

Yoo Joonghyuk is a difficult boy, who has difficulty with his emotions. When an audacious girl and pensive boy suddenly appear with the rain, he can no longer explain the feelings that used to be so familiar to himself.
