Summary
Jack turns his head to look at her as soon as she gets out of her own bed. The frown lines across his forehead smooth out when he realizes what she’s doing as she lifts the covers on his bed and slides in next to his warm body. He sits up next to her and without a word, they come together for their fourth kiss. And then their fifth. Rebecca stops counting after that.

Summary
She’d found him fascinating from the get-go. Not just because Benjamin was so taken with this man and the myth surrounding him, but because he was something else. Something new. Seemingly a belligerent drunk, which was in no way a novel thing to Midge by now, but when he crawled up onto the bar, she recognized something in him – something she knew from herself. The way he readily and easily took command of the room and held the crowd in his sway made her think he was as much entertainer as artist.

Summary
Ed has lived a life of greed so far. In some ways, that’s what being a pirate boils down to. You want something, usually something other people possess, so you take it. Blackbeard doesn’t feel guilty about anything. He never struggles to fall asleep at night – if he’s awake, it’s just because he wants to be, thank you very much. He doesn’t sit up pining for the affection of some wannabe pirate rich boy. He’s not a coward. There’s no time for shame when you’re drunk and chucking coconuts at someone’s head.
