It definitely wasn’t soul searching that led him to cut his Padawan braid, effectively killing Caleb Dume and his stupid hope along with him. It was a desperate choice made by a kid who was too young with too much life left to live to fully embrace the part of the Jedi Code that stated there is no death, there is only the Force.
Ten thousand Jedi had been killed by the men that fought along side them. It was pretty fucking obvious that there was plenty of death and not enough Force.

Summary
They lean now, into the breeze, and she wonders if this is really what it is to be the wind. From the sky, Sabine sees the colors beneath them all- paths leading to the capital, the wind in her hair, Kanan and Ezra next to her.
She breathes them in, and leaves everything else weighing her down, so that she can pretend that it is all okay.
She doesn’t know if it happens, or if it is in her head, but her glider seems to lift- higher, higher, as all the heavy things melt away in this infinite moment.
And then it's not infinite anymore and all that is left is fire and ash and burning and Sabine wants it to stop but it will nevernevernever.

Summary
A chasm opened up on the Ghost that almost swallowed the four remaining Spectres. Kallus felt himself standing on the edge as they slipped through his fingers, falling. The ship seemed to echo strangely. There were empty bunks. Empty seats in the cockpit that no one wanted to fill.
The Ghost became well suited to its name, and Spectres One and Six haunted the ship.
(Post 4th Season, and Kallus is surprised to be the one holding everything together. He’s not sure how long he can manage it.)
