Summary
His date smiles, his voice perfectly soft, "I mean it. Darry is my brother."
Even though he's clearly expecting this, Dallas can see clear as that he doesn't bear a single resemblance to Darry that Dallas can see from where he's sitting across from him. Reflexively, he tries to find a feature, any feature that can tip him off, watching his date wipe his fingers off on the napkin in his lap.
There were things he knew about Darry Curtis in certainty and uncertainty: that he was the oldest of his brothers, that he was married to Paul Holden going on twenty odd years, that his parents had died in a car accident in January in 1965 that gave him the empire he had now, that he was a Socs Soc back in Tulsa who'd been hailed as their golden boy, and he lived up to that moniker in every way until Dallas had been reclaimed by his sister in 1965.
Dallas Winston goes on a date with a very unexpected party.

Summary
It's got nothing to do with God or getting into heaven though, as Jennifer watches Ponyboy wipe at Dallas' face. It's the plain fact that even though she never is all that happy to accommodate, she feels the need to, always feels herself caring about the people who land in her lap no matter how thin or fat her wallet was, no matter how exhausted she felt.
It's become second nature for Jennifer now.
Jennifer Curtis brings home another stray, courtesy of her son Ponyboy Curtis. Alternatively: Dallas Winston enters Ponyboy's life and never intends to leave.

Summary
"Well — I guess it's about girls and stuff," Soda admits, and Ponyboy shifts in bed more, wondering what Soda is going to say, what he's trying to say. Soda is never one to really beat around the bush; he also wasn't as blunt as Darry could be. "I mean —"
"You know I ain't into girls, right?" Ponyboy teases and Soda grins at him. "I don't think they're all that dissimilar though."
Soda nods, biting at his lip. "I just – I was wondering what it's like? To – to be in love, I guess."
Soda asks his older brother, Ponyboy, about love. Ponyboy tries to answer.

Summary
There's a kid curled up in the blankets that are meant for Mickey Mouse — it's easy to distinguish the mop of brown hair from the bright red blanket that Ponyboy came in here to steal and for a moment he's not sure what to do, exactly about the sleeping boy in the stable that shouldn't be there.
December, 1961 — Ten year old Ponyboy Curtis finds a boy sleeping in the stables.

Summary
If two points are destined to touch, the universe will always find a way to make the connection - even when all hope seems to be lost. Certain ties cannot be broken. They define who we are - and who we can become. Across space, across time, among paths we cannot predict - nature always finds a way.
