Summary
Lucanis Dellamorte was entirely too put together for a man who was burdened with an entire litany of troubles. He was only recently liberated from a year of cruel experimentation in an underwater prison, currently possessed by a demon as a result of said experimentation, very recently bereaved as a consequence of said liberation, and now tasked with killing a god as a last instruction from his dead grandmother. Rook felt stressed just thinking about it, but there Lucanis was, calmly kneading semolina flour whilst wearing what Rook could only assume was an unreasonably expensive shirt and waistcoat.
Frankly, it was weird.

Summary
Despite his reclusive tendencies, Viago De Riva was more than familiar enough with the Cantori Diamond to know there were two entrances: the street-level archway for patrons and guests, and the rooftop-level door for Crows. If he felt slightly less welcome to the latter entryway on this particular visit, he chose to ignore that.

Summary
Lucanis suspects Spite’s new development of a broader interest in his cooking is thanks to Emmrich’s well intentioned urging, and it is… both help and hindrance.
Helpfully, Spite is particularly adept at sniffing out food which has gone bad - he singles out the spoiled tomatoes from the bag in a matter of seconds - but unhelpfully, his tastes otherwise are impulsive and frequently confused.
Today, he has fixed his sights on flour.

Summary
Cullen just looks at her, his expression hard to read but his jaw set stubbornly, the quick half turn of his head telling her that he’s as aware of the curious faces peering round the sides of the tents as she is. Even if he doesn’t take the bait, she’s enjoying dangling it in front of him immensely. He doesn't seem to be a man who's all that used to being teased, which is just too bad. He's proving wonderfully slow to learn.

Summary
It's been a year since Rook saved the world, and in grand Tevinter fashion, a ball is being thrown about it. The plan was to bait any lingering Venatori into revealing themselves—and it worked, if a little too well.
Now violence is raging through the ballroom, Rook is unarmed, and Lucanis has to find someplace safe for them both while blood mages stalk the halls. It's not the reunion he imagined after a month apart, but they'll find some way to make do.

If Illario knew the world was about to end, he wouldn’t have gone to check up on Lucanis. He would’ve sped through every red light on the way to his ex-girlfriend’s so he could at least get laid a few times before the Denerim Flu took out 99% of the world’s population. If Lucanis knew the world was about to end, he wouldn’t have let Illario into his condo. He would’ve given up wrestling with his inner demons and done enough drugs to kill a small horse. One of those Li’l Sebastians.
But neither of them knew, and now they’re stuck together. They survived the end of the world, but they might not survive each other.

The merchant was still fiddling with the locked box, running their hands around the seam of the lid, pressing the hinges and latches. They turned it upside down and drummed along the bottom of it, and right side up to poke at the swirls and knots in the pale wood.
"Hmm? Oh, I'm told this is the silphium, but the trader I bought it from didn't give me the key for this damned thing, and the box is fine enough that I don't want to break it just yet."
An unlockable container, with a rare item purported to be inside? Lucanis silently counted backwards from five.
He made it to three.
"Give it here," Neve said.

Summary
Rook's life is a mess, objectively speaking, and keeping the Lighthouse coffee bar running after the year she's had isn't making it any easier. Then she meets Lucanis Dellamorte, a rich guy with enough skeletons in his closet to fill a graveyard, and her life gets even messier. Grief is weird, being an adult is hard, and falling in love might be the messiest thing of all.
This is a story about two people falling in love, but it’s also my love letter to the friend group. It’s not a very serious story, except when it is (because life’s not that serious, except when it is.)
