It's not easy juggling nine major characters and giving them equal focus and screentime, and this fic not only nails it but is also hilarious. I'm in love with these characterizations and the way they invert of a lot of the popular fanon tropes theyre associated with. amazing captivating showstopping etc etc. give baby mask a gun (this would everything worse. but it would be so funny)

very very new to this fandom but HOLY COW the inherent grief of being a child and looking back as an adult!!! growing up but along the way having to confront and face that the world is more broken than you thought it was!! but also the kindness of the adults in your life who will be a shield to you at the expense of themselves!! im gonna go eat rocks!! this one is so simple yet profound and the grief and love that seeps into every word.....it haunts me

Shigeo’s still looking at him, and—the thing is, Ritsu has a sneaking suspicion of what this is all about, of what that dream was trying to dredge up. Shigeo doesn’t deserve his fear. Not now. Not when he’s just started to get better. If Ritsu ruined that for him, if he made him go back to that version of himself that was small and closed up, he would never forgive himself.
He pulls his hands away from Shigeo’s in one sharp motion. “Anyway,” he says, and starts making his way to the door. “Thanks for waking me up. We should both go back to sleep if we want to be functioning tomorrow.” He’s in his room with the door closed behind him before Shigeo can get a word in edgewise.
