“I don’t have any right to them.” Then, honesty forcing itself past his teeth, “Regardless of the love I have for them.”
Maedhros shrugs. “Nobody has gotten what they had a right to since we came to Alqualondë,” he says with studied evenness. “Just thank the Valar this is one of the things that’s worked out for the better so far.”

When Míriel is finally healed, the Valar allow her to return to life - on one condition: She must ensure that no issues arise from her and Indis' mutual marriages to Finwë. A problem many of the Eldar would consider impossible, but Míriel does not plan to leave her son behind again.

Summary
What happens if Finwë had chosen differently when the Valar exiled Fëanor?
What if Finwë turned out to be wiser and craftier than what history writes?Or
Finwë loves his eldest so much that he knows better on how to do it right, as a King and Father.
The first chapter gives the context and sets the stage; it gets better from there.
This is a political take on the Silmarillion on how could the Doom of Kinslaying could be avoided in the first place, but the Exile and the Ban remain. If the House of Fëanor could be saved, then would also be so many of Alqualondë, Doriath, and Sirion.
All glory goes to Tolkein, the rest (and the ooc) are mine.

Summary
”Many evils we are threatened with, but no cravens are we!” said Fëanor, on the shores of barren Araman. “Grief, I already know, and I fear no weapons nor weariness! I fear no torment nor treason! Indeed, walk with me, Nolofinwë, my recently-sworn brother, and let us take counsel together on how best to take our people across these empty lands ahead of us.”
Mandos blinked.
Fingolfin blinked.(Or: au in which spite drives Fëanor to make…GOOD choices?)
