After finally finding steady work in Austria away from the watchful eye of the USSR, Alexei Toporov finds himself in just as much danger when the regime in Germany takes over during the Anschluss. As people disappear from the streets and the Nazis tighten their ironclad hold on what was once their neighbor, the only solace Alexei finds is going to church every Sunday, to see the man he's fallen in love with.
Unfortunately since Father Fritz is a priest, Alexei is convinced he'll have to love him from afar. That is, until the danger from the Nazis finally threatens Alexei's life, and he learns his feelings aren't as unrequited as he thought. -

A sympathy that is stronger than distance. Proof that someone out there will love you enough to share their hurts and their woes with ye.”
