Summary
The box was full and had colorful stains on the outside. Sticking out of the corner of the box was a brown, thin paintbrush. He pulls it out and twirls it between his fingers.
"Nothing important."
The words bounce around his head, trying to grasp the neutral way Will simply said it. He used to tell Mike everything.
Did things really change?
Mike tries to think of a reason why Will wouldn't just tell him. Why did he have to learn about his best friend second-hand, from El?
or: Will made a painting for someone else. Mike doesn't understand why he won't tell him about it. He misses everything before Lenora, before the silence, before the unanswered calls. Of course he's jealous, Will is his best friend. Right?
